what's the same?
twelfth night and just add water are the same in that both stories deal with crazy people who can't help themselves. just add water: lazy neighbors who just sit around and wait for something to happen. twelfth night: duke orsino, who sends messengers everywhere instead talking to people himself. this is the normal for these people, and everyone around them. but something bad has to happen, the society has to hit a low, and the urge to make a change is awoken in someone, the do a bunch of crazy things, and then everyone is functional and everything ends up better than it was to begin with.

Denny is bombed; his wife is high on crack. Orsino is also bombed, high on music.
ReplyDeleteDent or Denny whatever his name is, is easily the laziest bum ive ever seen. The only thing that he stand up for during the day is for a new red stripe and maybe to pick up his football if his drunk hands ever fumble it. He does absolutely nothing all day long and somehow every month has money to pay his rent? HOW DOES HE MAKE ANY MONEY?! Thankfully he has Ray as his neighbor otherwise nothing would ever happen to him, he would witness no change because everyone else in the town, for the most part, is just like him.
ReplyDeletewait..i thought his name was danny?
ReplyDeleteshit now i have to go in and retype that in my essay.
anyhow i never really realzed that similiarity before, but both the play and the movie are full of people just waiting for somethign to happen.
